BMW Preventative Maintenance in Irvine, CA

When To Take Your BMW For Preventive Maintenance?

BMW is undoubtedly a global icon in the automotive industry. BMW has a long and intriguing history of making high-end and everyday vehicles.

Actually, BMW was formed from the merger of three different manufacturers. But how did it become the renowned auto manufacturer it is today?

As we discussed before, BMW was originally comprised of three independent automakers. Three of these were located in Germany: Rapp Motorenwerke in Bavaria, Bayersiche Flugzeugwerke in Munich, and Fahrzeugfabrik Eisenach in Thuringia.

In April 1917, it was reorganized as the Bayerische Motren Werke GmbH (BMW). But they didn't immediately start manufacturing cars.

In its place, they manufactured engines for airplanes. This is to be expected, given that this occurred during the First World War.

The BMW IIIa airplane engine was the company's initial product. The German military placed a large order for it because of its great performance and fuel efficiency at altitude. This led to BMW's fast growth.

Introduction of New Class

In the 1960s, an initiative to create an entirely new line of vehicles was underway. It was the New Class, or Neue Klasse, that made its debut in 1962. The 2000 C and 2000 CS, two four-door sedans introduced in 1965, were part of this expansion.

The New Class is widely regarded as the vehicle responsible for BMW's survival and the launch of the brand's reputation as a producer of high-quality sports sedans.

BMW i Models

Established in 2011, BMW I is the company's i-line of electric vehicles. The target was the development and manufacturing of plug-in electric cars.

The BMW i3 and BMW i8 were two of the first proposed cars. In 2013, BMW started mass-producing the i3, an all-electric sedan. In the same year, in November, the technology was first introduced to customers.

The plug-in hybrid BMW i8 was first introduced in June 2014.

In less than two years after production began, total sales of these models hit the 50,000-unit mark. In the history of electric vehicle sales, the BMW i3 came in at number three.

BMW Maintenance Every 5000 Miles

BMWs typically need to be serviced at 5,000-mile intervals, but a Condition Based Service monitor can keep tabs on vital indicators and send you notifications if more work is needed sooner than that.

In other words, your visit may not necessitate the replacement of every component that is inspected.

The Condition-Based Service monitor will help our BMW-certified technicians decide when and what parts need to be changed.

To keep your 2015 or 2016 BMW running smoothly for the first four years or 50,000 miles, BMW offers a basic maintenance program.

This plan pays for repairs and services that aren't included in the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, such as the manufacturer's suggested maintenance and parts that wear out over time.

Depending on how often you drive your BMW, they may include new brakes, wiper blade inserts, and other parts.
